Big Sky features 3500 acres of breathtaking steeps, narrow chutes, long easy cruisers and wide-open bowls - all generously blanketed by more than 33 feet of average annual snowfall. With a tram now going to the top of Lone Mountain, Big Sky boasts the second highest vertical rise in the US. Long known as an intermediate's paradise, Big Sky is now recognized as one of the best all-around mountains for skiers and riders of all abilities. And crowds are virtually non-existent, meaning you'll spend more time making lines than standing in them.
With their connection to Moonlight Basin, Big Sky now has the largest skiable acreage in the US. An interchangeable lift ticket is available to you as an NJS participant at an additional cost.
The Summit Lodge, a slope side, luxury hotel which adds a European element to the resort's traditional Western ambience.

The Summit hotel is one of the most elegant vacation properties in the Rocky Mountains. It also has all the amenities you'd expect from a world-renowned ski resort. Located slope-side, ski lifts and runs are literally right out the Summit's front door. Amenities at the Summit include concierge services, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, a swimming pool size hot tub, Peaks restaurant, The Carabiner Lounge, and an espresso cart. Combine these luxury appointments with three high capacity lifts within 100 yards of the entry and you have one of the finest properties in the Rockies. Guests at this Big Sky Hotel also have access to the recreational facilities and European-style spa at Huntley Lodge, just across the village plaza.
Discover Big Sky
For those who wish to take a day off of skiing, the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park is only 47 miles south of Big Sky. Experience the majesty of the nation's oldest park as you explore the interior by snowmobile or snow coach. While you are there, you'll likely come across buffalo herds, elk, bald eagles, and the area's famous geysers. Other opportunities available to you at Big Sky include winter fly-fishing, horseback riding, dog sled adventures and more. Discover Big Sky before the rest of the world does!
